In the mist of the turbulent change all around us today, more and more people focus on discovering their true purpose.
For us, the singular purpose of life is always more life.
Over the past 24 years, the two of us have shared this expression in many ways and in many forms. As we continue to find ways to communicate it on a larger scale in our support of conscious entrepreneurs through BrandU as well as other budding projects, we are always pleased to discover this foundational truth echoed back to us in many unexpected places.
For example, one recent place is in a book that Vito is currently reading. He found this in the text…
“…we both believed, when we started, the only sin on earth was to do things badly. I still believe it.”
How could a person ever raise themselves to such heights, to their utmost best, if the single driving purpose of being alive wasn’t more life?
Regardless of your place or current direction in life, or what you are trying to accomplish—personal or professional—the underlying purpose is always more life…more expression, more experience, more gifts, more joy…more love.
We hold that unwavering truth for ourselves as well as…YOU.
It’s time for you to BE more now! There is no more time to waste.
To help you on your most powerful way, we’ll give a FREE 30-minute BrandStorm (value$750) to the first person to tell us the name of the book that the quote above came from! Just post your guesses in the comment box for this post on the PowerPlay blog. Also, please feel free to suggest what you think the single purpose of life is!
Best of luck to you!
P.S.- Hint: the book as a two-word title and refers to some heavy lifting. : )

How To Move When Signs Say No

Q: I’ve recently gotten clear that I need to create my own financial freedom with a world-aiding business, however all the financial reasons that say, “not on your life!” have showed up. Car died. Taxes came due in an unexpected avalanche…blah, blah, blah…
You and Kim are terrific, but I’m not sure I’m ready to bring my business into the present. What steps do I take to get to the point where I can call you and start building my business?
A: The Universe can, and will, set a number obstacles in our way to “see” if we really want to be an entrepreneur. a “how bad do you want it” kind of test of belief.
What trips entrepreneurs up most often is:
1. They aren’t passionate enough about what they are doing,
2. They give up right before everything is about to come together,
3. They don’t realize they missed a goal and need to change something, (It’s not a failure, simply the process of learning.)
4. They don’t understand that being in your own business is hard work. (Anyone that tells you otherwise is just trying to selling you something that will never work.)
And finally, there’s YOU.
You can get in your own way, unintentionally. That’s why Clearing the Path is vital at the stage you’re at. Otherwise, you’ll stay exactly where you’re at, ready to go, but waiting for the perfect opportunity, the perfect signs, the stars to align, and eating yourself up until they do.
Sadly “they” never align…YOU do.
So for you, your first step is to clear your path today.
With your path clear, it’s easy to set the course for your own path to business.

Info, Education or Partner: Big Differences
January 11, 2010 by Vito Montone

This past fall my team asked entrepreneurs around the world some revealing questions about being an entrepreneur today. Something unexpected appeared.
A clear majority of the respondents indicated they wanted to partner with Kim Castle and me. They did just want information, they wanted to be partners!
At first we thought what a nice reflection of the hard work we share with business owners. And then we thought, of course, who wouldn’t want to partner with folks that had decades of hands-on experience on products grossing hundreds of millions.
However, it left a very interesting question in its wake, “As much as we would want to work with everyone individually, how could we possibly partner with 1,000,000 businesses? How could we even partner with 10,000 or even 1,000 of them? Hmmm…this got my wheels churning.
To be honest, Kim and I realized a few years ago we were not really a part of the info marketing world. We just didn’t seem to fit. Our programs were to deep and practical, they had to actually work. By being a driving focus of doing “the work” of business creation, instead of selling information about it, we are clearly more aligned with the educational field…higher education with a twist.
If you’ve worked with us through any of our programs, Power Path, Brand Power, or Market Power, you know that we focus on what you actually need to get the job of starting or growing a business done, while you are actively doing it. Most folks say it’s the most involved but rewarding work they’ve ever done…because it’s real business. So many come to us after trying ever tactic, technique and mastermind out there…to do business right.
But “partners” is a whole new question to us…partners?! Does other business education today like, One Coach, or E-Myth, Prosper Learning, think this way?
There are so many forms partnership can take.
The Sharks on the ABC TV show Shark Tank described themselves as “partners” for giving their money and advice to folks who meet their standards. I guess they’re right.
Some “partners” bring no money or experience but do half the work…or sometimes even more of it themselves. That’s a partner too. Some share the cost. That works too.
I was granted the rare opportunity in high school to develop my own educational curriculum, in tandem with a local architecture firm, when the school was not able to meet my advanced needs. I have always thought the education system on a whole could do much better. I mean apprenticeship offers so much more.
I proved this theory when I dropped out of architectural college to become a VP of a company at 19. Study about it or get paid to learn on the job…wasn’t a hard decision for me at all.
I’ve learned that on the job, in the trenches, doing “the work” is clearly the best possible way to learn business – hands-on and in real-time. However, apprenticeship just doesn’t scale…
I have to say…the BrandU community’s desire to partner with us has certainly got me thinking.
I’m convinced university curriculum, getting it done hands-on and in real-time, and personal hands-on touch of guidance (like my first entrepreneurial boss) can combined to “partner” with entrepreneurs around the world in the “creation of” or “growth of” conscious businesses that can change the world. I think it can even reward them.
I’m on it! Stay tuned…

Re-learn #3: Avatar You?
December 21, 2009 by Vito Montone

Welcome to the final re-learn for 2009. I had something planned, but that was trumped. I did not see this one coming at all.
I went to the PGA screening of Avatar in 3D. I watched in sheer awe…not in awe of technology (it was so transparent, it was mind-blowing), not of the action scenes (they were big but not gratuitous), not even in the love story between two beings (it was beautiful and nuanced).
But in awe of our evolution. Sounds a bit over the top for a film, huh? If you can actually “see” the story…and our collective story…you will never to be the same.
We look to books, workshops, gurus (oh my)…for transformation. These offer fleeting glimpses, but never to transformation itself.
You can only experience transformation within yourself. James Cameron, the writer and director of the film, certainly had to. Having put himself fully into this project for over a decade he certainly cannot be the same. Now the film industry has to transform…and we as individuals must transform as well.
15 years from the first vision of the film, 3 years of production,10,000’s employed and nearly 3 hours in the theatre…all to deliver a pre-vision of the next leg of our human evolution. Was it worth it? You bet!
I won’t ruin anything in the story for you…but keep watching it until you REALLY “see” it. Just like Eckhart Tolle’s book “New Earth” you may have to be ready now.
This week I re-learned what my partner Kim Castle has been preparing for you…what she has been sharing with me for the last year…no…our 24 years together…always be in love with yourself. If you can truly do this…your human incarnation will be the portal to everything you can imagine.
Thank you for being on the journey of your ultimate creative expression…thank you for making a difference…thank you for sharing your focus and attention.
Dream well my friends…we’re be waiting right here to “see” you 2010!
Peace and Blessings!
